Gender is not something we are, but something we do. A script we learn, rehearse, and perform until it becomes natural. This self-portrait project is both a game and an inquiry into that performance: What does it mean to "be a man"? Who decides what is "masculine"? How are our notions and interpretations of masculinity and femininity constructed? Who cares, and why?
Here, every pose and every image is an act of exploration. This project is a game in the best sense of the word: an invitation to experiment, exaggerate, dismantle, and reinvent the ways we express ourselves. To play with “being a man” as a wardrobe we can change, mix, or reject at will. Because if everything is a performance, why not have fun with the role? And, I am.
